Andy Anderson is President and co-owner of Community Innovations, Inc., Andy has over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health industry. He continues to personally train and motivate his management staff and continues to pursue the creation of a “culture of excellence.”
Andy is a highly sought after motivational speaker who is emerging as a powerful voice on business, political and social issues presented on the local, state, national and international levels. He holds a B. A. in Political Science/Public Administration from North Carolina Central University. Andy serves on the Executive Board of the North Carolina Rural Economic Center where he is Chairman of the Workforce Development Committee.
In 2000, Andy was awarded the prestigious Marshall Fellowship to discuss social and economic issues with world ambassadors from NATO and the European Union. In 2002, he was invited back to Europe as the special guest of the Chancellor of Germany, Gerhard Schröder, in Berlin.
Andy returned to his hometown to empower the community to new heights. He assisted in spearheading the establishment of the D.R.E.A.M. Center where hundreds of children now have the opportunity to supplement their education through tutorial, mentorship and technology programs.
Andy was the first African-American elected to the city council in his home town of Whiteville, where he served for eight years. He is currently leading an effort to develop the Cedar Branch Community Development Corporation to improve education, housing and economic development in Loris, South Carolina.
He is the Pastor of Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Loris, South Carolina. He teaches from his wealth of practical experience, his love for humanity and most of all, his love for God.
Andy is a father, husband, and minister, and is partnering with his wife, Ophelia, to raise 3 foster children along with their birth children.
